PURPOSE:To provide a method for degreasing a ceramic compact in a short heating time for the compact without causing decomposition and evaporation of an organic binder in the interior of the compact in advance of the organic binder on the surface of the compact in removing the organic binder from the compact. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for decreasing a ceramic compact is composed of the following steps. An initial heating step for heating the ceramic compact at a heating rate increased within a range so as not to cause defects by a difference in thermal expansion between the surface and the interior from ambient temperature to a prescribed temperature within the range higher than the decomposition temperature of an organic binder by 50 deg.C, a temperature lowering step for cooling the compact to a prescribed temperature within the range lower than the decomposition temperature of the organic binder by 50 deg.C at a temperature lowering rate increased within the range so as not to cause the defects by a difference in thermal expansion between the surface and the interior immediately at the time when the surface of the compact attains the prescribed temperature, a normal heating step for heating the compact to a prescribed temperature within the range higher than the maximum temperature in the initial heating step by 50 deg.C at a heating rate increased within the range so as not cause the defects due to the difference between the surface and the interior immediately at the time of cooling the surface and attaining the prescribed temperature, and a step for returning the temperature to ambient temperature in which the normal heating and temperature lowering steps are repeated prescribed times and the temperature is then returned to ambient temperature. |
