The system has an engine speed sensor producing a signal corresponding to the rotational speed. A reference speed generator produces a signal based on the speed sensor and the throttle signal, to select either launch or creep values. A transmission input speed sensor is connected to the output shaft of the friction clutch. An actuator controls the engagement/disengagement of the frictional clutch in response to a controller, which utilises the sensor signals. An algebraic summer forms a difference signal between the reference speed and the transmission signal and a compensator causes the clutch to be partially engaged such that the transmission input speed signal asymptotically approaches the reference signal.
|
