The frame bearing journals (3) in the centre are hardened in a stage with active effect regulation in order to vary the hardness depth and the other frame bearing journals (1,2,4,5) are hardened in at least one another stage. The frame bearing journals (1,2,4,5) on opposite sides of the bearing journals (3) in the centre are hardened in a first stage and the latter is hardened in a further stage together with the crank bearing journals (6,7,8,9). Four frame bearing journals (1,2,4,5) are hardened in a first stage, without active effect regulation and a further frame bearing journal (3) and four crank bearing journals (6,7,8,9) in a further stage with effect regulation. The frame bearing journals in the centre are used together with a support device for supporting the shaft during hardening of the remaining frame bearing journals. |
