In the grinder for grinding fishing rods of different thickness and golf clubs, the drive shaft receives in its front tip receptacle a picotable connector having a ball at its tip and a chain gear at the other end for joining with another gear t the rear end of the driven shaft by means of a chain integrally engaging the two gears for coaxial rotation. The driven shaft having a grinding wheel at its front tip is adjustable for up and down or right and left movements by moving the respective plates supporting the driven shaft bearing housing with screw adjustments. The movement of the grinding driven shaft with pivotal movement of the connector ball head changes the contact angle of the grinding wheel surface to adjust the grinding condition in accordance with the different thicknesses of the rods for grinding.
