CARTRIDGE FOR A FIREARM

The cartridge for a firearm propels a bullet from the barrel of the firearm after ignition of a gas-producing propellant held in a detonator cap. So that the bullet is neither destroyed nor damaged by the high pressures developed by the gas produced on ignition of the propellant, a compartment (10) is provided in the cartridge located between the bullet (9) and the detonation cap (2) for expansion of the gas produced on ignition of the propellant.
