PURPOSE:To provide an information processing system which can shorten a file transferring time by reducing the load of a central processing unit. CONSTITUTION:The information processing system has the auxiliary storage device 37 of a magnetic disk device inclucing a packet area 38 and an operation area 39, a network control part 31 controlling the transmission of a packet communication network 20 and storing a received packet in the packet area 38 in order of receiving, a separating means 34 separating the packet stored in the packet area into a control part and a data part, a file restoration means 35 combining the separated data part to restore the file and a control information generating means 36 generating control information of the file including the identification code of the file from the control part. Besides, the system includes a packet receiving processor 30 consisting of a packet controlling part 33 storing control information of the file and the restored file in a main storage device 70 by way of a duplex buffer 40 and a local memory bus 32 connecting between the respective devices.
