The apparatus loads the add-on board i.e. communication modem, voice card, voice mail card, write pen board, scanner board, general purpose interface bus card, to the conventional portable computer without varying its size or reducing its function. The add-on board loader comprises a battery loader (3) for loading at least two batteries in parallel; battery connectors (5,5a) corresponding to the jacks of the batteries (5,5a) corresponding to the jacks of the batteries (2,2a); an add-on board connector (6) corresponding to an add-on boad (4) jack; a bus expansion connector (7). The add-on boad (4) is correspondent to the space where the batteries are inserted.
