PURPOSE:To execute double-side recording with excellent quality as to a fixing device appropriate for double-side recording, especially, which is used for an electrophotographic recorder. CONSTITUTION:This device is used for an electrostatic recorder which executes recording on both sides of a recording medium, and is provided with a soft roller 31 which incorporates a heater 38 and to whose surface oil is applied by an oil applying mechanism 34, a backup roller 21 which incorporates a heater 39 and is opposed to the soft roller 31, an oil removing means 22 and an oil applying means 23. In the case of printing on the surface of the recording medium, the oil removing means 22 abuts on the roller 21 and removes the oil on the surface, and the oil applying means 23 contacts the backup roller 21 to apply the oil on the surface in the case of printing on the back surface of the recording medium. The heater 39 is turned on when fixing is performed on the back surface to prevent fixing temperature from lowering. |
