PURPOSE:To detect precisely the motion of the object of high-definition TV signals (MUSE signals) transmitted after the signals are band-compressed by offset sampling. CONSTITUTION:In the output of a subtracter 4c one-field difference signals are obtained and the difference signals are band-compressed by means of a vertical LPF 11 and horizontal LPF 12. The band-compressed one-field difference signals are compared with the one-frame difference signals at a maximum value selection circuit and the maximum value is outputted. Then nonlinear process circuit 6c performs a nonlinear process on the maximum value based on an edge signal and detects a moved amount from the one-field difference. Therefore, the motion at a time frequency of 30Hz which cannot been detected conventionally can be detected by using the one-field difference signals for motion detection. In addition, when the 1-field difference signals are band-limited in both horizontal and vertical directions, such a malfunction that a still picture is wrongly discriminated as a moving picture can be prevented. |
