PURPOSE:To give enough triboelectric charge and to obtain stable picture images by using a specified pyrrole deriv. CONSTITUTION:The charge donating member has at least a pyrrole deriv. expressed by formula I or II on the surface. The toner used contains at least a binder resin, coloring agent and pyrrole deriv. expressed by formula I or II as a charge controlling agent. In formula I and II, R<1> and R<2> are hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups of 1-8 carbon number, amino groups, alkoxy groups, aryl groups, l and m are integers 1-3, X, Y, and Z are independently hydrogen atoms, alkyl groups, aralkyl groups, amino groups, alkoxy groups, or aryl groups of 1-5 carbon number. By using the pyrrole deriv. expressed by formula I or II, enough triboelectric charge can be given and stable picture images can be obtd. With using this toner, high density picture images from the initial stage can be obtd. since the electrificiation of the toner shows good rising.
