PURPOSE:To improve quality and productivity by subjecting a stepped cylindrical body consisting of a nonmagnetic material having good machinability to industrial hard chrome prating by a specific method. CONSTITUTION:A fine rugged surface 3 is formed by etching or other methods on the surface of a base body 1 formed as the stepped cylindrical body consisting of the nonmagnetic material, such as brass, having the good machinability. While the surface of the base body 1 is rolled in liquid of 50 to 60 deg.C contg. chromium ions, the base body is immersed for 15 to 20 minutes to effect an electrolysis at 40 to 50A/dm<2> current density, by which the industrial hard chrome plating layer 4 is formed on the surface of the base body 1. The rugged surface 5 of a fine wire form is formed on the layer 4 so as to be perpendicular to the axial direction of this layer and thereafter, collars 2 are press fixed axially to both ends of the base body 1. The workability is improved and the quality and productivity are improved in this way. |
