PURPOSE: To improve corrosion resistance, saturation magnetization and noise performance by forming an alloy which consists of cobalt, nickel, chromium and platinum and contain these elements respective at concns. of specific atomic % by vacuum vapor deposition on a substrate. CONSTITUTION: An Ni-P alloy layer 2 is formed by chemical plating at 5 to 20μm film thickness of a substrate 1 consisting of an Al alloy and an amorphous Ni-P layer 3 is formed by vacuum vapor deposition at <=100nm film thickness on this layer 2. A magnetic layer 4 consisting of an alloy composed of concns. of about >=75% cobalt, 5 to 10% nickel, 3 to 8% chromium and 8 to 15% platinum, by atomic per cent, right thereafter is formed on the layer 3 by sputtering. The total of the concns. of the nickel and the chromium is confined to <=15%. A protective layer is formed by sputtering of carbon on the layer 4 and a lubricant is applied on the surface of the layer 5. As a result, the corrosion resistance, saturation magnetization and noise performance are improve. |
