The automatic control circuit for the foot clutch used in a manual transmission type automobile checks a mechanical adverse effect when stopping the automobile, and enables an engine to brake on a downward road. The automatic control circuit comprises a body detector (A); a break switch (BRK S/W); an accelerator switch (ACC S/W); a sensor (S/S) including a rotary encoder accepting pulse signals from a speed cable; a neutral switch (Nat S/W); a slope detection switch (Obl S/W); a circuit (F/V CON) converting the frequency of the sensor (S/S) into the corresponding voltage; a logical output circuit (LOC) for driving solenoid valves; a latchet circuit (L2) for delaying the output of the accelerator switch (ACC S/W).
