Endoscope with flexible distal end - has end which is enclosed in flexible and elastic double walled tube

The endoscope has a guide tube which has a flexible part at its distal end which can be bent by a remote control. The flexible part is enclosed in a flexible and elastic double walled tube consisting of an inner flexible tube (16) and an outer flexible tube (17). Any increase in diameter of the inner flexible tube (10) is prevented by a layer of braid (18) fitted between the inner and outer flexible tubes (16, 17). A second layer of braid (19) is fitted inside the inner flexible tube. USE/ADVANTAGE - Endoscope guide tube with reinforced flexible part to withstand high internal pressures during sterilisation.
