Described is an anti-blocking hydraulic brake system with a flow-control valve (20) fitted in the brake line (2). In order that the flow-control valve does not execute its control function during a normal braking operation, a check piston (80) is fitted which acts on the piston of the flow-control valve via a spring, thus holding the piston in position during a normal braking operation. The check piston acts, at the same time, as the valve-closure element for a valve in the fluid-return line.
