The circuit compensates teletext signal using a transversal equalizer (12) so that distortion due to a noise group delay of transmission line of a data slicer is compensated. The circuit includes a switching unit (11) for switching teletext signal which is included on output signal of an intermediate frequency amplifier (2) and a transversal equalizer (12) for compensating distortion of teletext signal. The teletext signal transmitted to the transversal equalizer is delayed by n-step delayer, multiplied by constants (C1...CN+1) at each delay step. The output signals of the steps are added and transmitted to a data slicer.
