The pitch angle of the main rotor head (2) and blades (1) e.g. for an autogyro is changed by pivoting the shaft bearing (5) about axis (6). The pilot has a control lever (22) which acts on the pitch lever arm (8) through a four bar parallel linkage (23,24). This pivots the crank (18) about axis (36) to raise or lower the connecting rod (13). Attached to the lower lug (21) of the crank (18) is a spring assisted jack. When the pilot closes either the pitch up switch (39) or nose down switch (40), an electric motor driven jack (27) compresses one spring and extends the other spring (30,31) within the elastic assistor (28). |
