<p>In a self-energising liquid cooled disc brake, cooling liquid is supplied to the brake through a passage (42) in the shaft. The brake actuator mechanism (9, 10, 12, 13, 14) is provided with a restrictor means (43), which may be in the form of a substantially cylindrical reservoir band, to restrict the flow of cooling liquid through the pressure plates (9, 10) through substantially 360 DEG in a radially outwards direction.
