A sealing device for use with a cannula or trocar assembly. The device includes a substantially cylindrical member positioned about a cannula or trocar assembly. The cylindrical member has a flange at a distal end such that the flange is positionable against a patient's body. The flange provides a sealing effect such that gases from the body cavity will not escape, for example, during surgical procedures requiring insufflation. |
