PURPOSE: To provide a method and device which rim around an original image embedded on a background in digital video that forms a digital image. CONSTITUTION: Edge key signal values ai -n/2 and j-m/2 are acquired by searching the maximum value of a key signal of an original image in an analysis window centering on each point about each of all points in an image. The key signals ai -m/2 and j-m/2 of the original of each point in the window are delayed so that the simultaneity of these key signals can be acquired and also supplied to the same comparator 1, and the comparator 1 is controlled to control some of the inputs to bound, e.g. a circular analysis window. Such processing makes it possible to acquired a regular boundary.
