TWO-DIMENSION SHIFT ARRAY FOR PICTURE COMPRESSION

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the picture compression 2-dimension shift array suitable for a picture compression VLSI with a small silicon area to be required. CONSTITUTION:A two-dimension shift array consists of 64 sets of internal elements 100. Each element consists of a flip-flop forming 12-bit shift register and a 2-input multiplexer selecting inputs to each flip-flop and receives an input from two directions (upper or left direction) and outputs the result into 2 directions (right or lower). Thus, the 2-dimension shift array is realized with a silicon area a half of that of a conventional 128-element shift array.
