The invention relates to a device for removing growth from the bottom of a ditch or trench, comprising an automatically moving vehicle, a lifting-arm mechanism which is arranged on the vehicle and, at one free end, bears at least one motor-driven rotor which rotates about an axis of rotation and bears a number of teeth which project substantially in the direction of the axis of rotation. An auxiliary frame is arranged in such a manner that it can pivot about a pivot axis which is substantially parallel to the normal direction of movement of the vehicle, at the free end of the lifting- arm mechanism, and each rotor is mounted on the auxiliary frame with its axis of rotation transverse with respect to the pivot axis, pivoting means being arranged between the arm and the auxiliary frame, in order to adjust the pivot position of the auxiliary frame with respect to the arm.
