PURPOSE:To improve image quality, such as sharpness, and to enable of rapid processing by forming a nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer substantially nonswelling in a processing solution and a hydrophobic polymer layer. CONSTITUTION:An undercoat layer formed on one side of a support comprises the nonphotosensitive polymer layer and the hydrophilic colloidal layer containing a dye dispersed in a solid state and formed by coating this polymer layer, and silver halide emulsion layers are formed on this undercoat layer. A nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer using a hydrophilic colloid for a binder on the side of the support reverse to the photosensitive layers. Another hydrophobic polymer layer is formed farther apart from the support than the nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer, and as the binder of the hydrophobic polymer layer, for example, polyethylene and polypropylene are used, thus permitting the nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer and the hydrophobic polymer layer to be made nonswellable in the processing solution and accordingly dryability after development processing to be improved.
