The triggering device (5) is fixed to one side of the frame (1) of the smoke-clearing flap. It uses an electromagnetic sucker (6) to keep a leaf (2) in the closed standby position and allow it to open. The electromagnetic sucker (6) is located with its direction of tearing out (A) perpendicular to the direction of opening of the leaf (2). Mechanical linkage means (10 to 14) are located between the moving plug (8) of the electromagnetic sucker (6) and a retaining member (keeper) (15) mounted on the leaf (2). <IMAGE>
