PURPOSE:To form image easily and excellently by using a thermal head having a plurality of heating concentration units in a heating body as a heating element when image is to be formed and erased by using reversible thermal recording material and heating element. CONSTITUTION:For displaying images, a reversible thermal recording material having a thermosensible layer whose transparent state and/or coloring state changes reversibly dependent on temperature is used. By using a heating element, images are formed and erased. In this case, a thermal head provided with a plurality of heating concentration units in a heating body is used as a heating element. The thermal head is formed in shapes of meander type, slit type, and window type. Further, as the reversible thermal recording material, a material where changing width of temperature for transparency and/or coloring exceeds 22 deg.C is used. On the other hand, as an applying pulse time, it is set to 1 msec or more. Thus, images can be formed and erased easily and excellently with a small quantity of energy. |
