PURPOSE:To provide an inflator for an air bag of high safety in which gentle gas generation can be performed in the beginning of operation. CONSTITUTION:This inflator for an air bag has features that a part or the whole of gas generating agent is formed into a piled construction of plate-like molding bodies 5, the piled surface is provided with recessed parts and projecting parts to form contact parts and non-contact parts, and combustible substance is filled in the remaining space in a combustion chamber 3 to be movable space of the molding bodies 5, in an inflator for an air bag at least having a combustion chamber filled with molded gas generating agent. |
