PURPOSE: To ignite an arc of a lamp almost independently to the impedance of a lamp connecting wire. CONSTITUTION: A circuit apparatus II to ignite an arc of a high voltage discharge lamp L comprises a transforming means 2, a switching means 3 and a capacitor means 4 to periodically invert the electric charge through these transforming means and the switching means. The circuit apparatus also comprises a peak current limiting means Rs to protect the switching means. By this invention, voltage limiting means 7, 8 are added to the transforming means. |
