TIRE TREAD AND METHOD FOR SOUNDPROOFING THEREOF

PURPOSE: To deduce irregular wear and noise by setting the angles of leading and tailing groove walls in different specific ranges in the plural lugs bounded by the lateral and annular grooves in tire tread. CONSTITUTION: This tire tread has a ratio of net to gross (a ratio of footprint area to total tread area) of 50%-80% and has plural lugs 18 bounded by lateral and annular grooves. The lugs 18 have the angle X of a groove wall 24 at a leading edge 28 set in a range of 3 deg.-8 deg. and the angle Y of a groove wall 26 at tailing edge 30 in a range of 0 deg.-2 deg.. Therefore, the lugs 18 substantially form a trapezoid shape having a tread base 32 as its base and a mounted portion 34 as its top side. This will reduce irregular wear as well as noise.
