This computerised information system architecture is composed of single- or multitask computers linked together by networks and simultaneously utilising one or more databases containing programs, texts, values, images and sounds stored in various formats and shared among several servers. This architecture is composed of one or more interconnected networks, of several single- or multitask servers containing data of any kind, of several multitask workstations, of peripherals associated with this hardware and of software of the operating system type, multitask monitors, database management software, peripheral management software, communications management software. This architecture is applicable to the construction of computerised information systems for storing and processing multimedia information of high capacity and upgradability.
