PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which is of a simple laminated structure, shows a high transfer density with superb initial transfer sensitivity, and further which enables stable repetitive transfer recording and can be manufactured easily with excellent high repeatable productivity. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium consists of a base 1 and at least, two laminated thermally fusible ink layers 2,3 provided on the one surface of the base. In addition, the thermal fusible ink layers 2, 3 are composed of a product in which at least two different types of thermally fusible material having different staining agents and fusion viscosities respectively are dispersed. The density of a staining agent the thermally fusible ink layer 3 which is far from the base 1 is lower than that in the thermally fusible ink layer 2 near to the base 1. |
