Fabric treatment composition comprising a fabric-softening material and a benzimidazolyl-alkyl-carbamate of the following formula: <CHEM> where R<1> is a C1-4 alkyl, alkoxy or phenoxy alkyl; and R<2> is a C1-4 alkyl, hydrogen, nitrogen or halogen. Compositions as claimed are particularly efficient in inhibiting microbial growth on fabrics which have been rinsed with said fabric treatment composition. |
