A method of manufacturing ceramic dental prostheses which are translucid like tooth enamel, have high mechanical strength and are biocompatible is characterized in that a plastic paste is made consisting of a mixture of organic resin, or binder, with fine particles of alumina/magnesia spinel, alumina and magnesia; the said paste is given the form required for the prosthesis; the resin is polymerized or the organic binder is set to fix the shape of the paste; the paste thus shaped is subjected to heat treatment to first calcine the resin or binder and then produce reactive sintering of the particles of alumina/magnesia spinel, alumina and magnesia; the shape of the porous infrastructure thus obtained is ground if necessary; and this infrastructure is infiltrated with molten glass. |
