<p>PURPOSE:To lock a sheet feed cassette during sheet feeding in a simple constitution by generating a detection signal when any obstacle enters a handle portion or comes into contact therewith during copying operation, and exciting a solenoid according to the signal, whereby a locking member makes turning motion to lock the movement of the sheet feed cassette. CONSTITUTION:In a sheet feed cassette which is capable of storing many copy sheets of the same size and being attached and detached to and from an image forming apparatus main body, there is provided a photo sensor 1 for detecting enterance or contact of an obstacle in a handle portion during image forming operation, according to a detection signal of the photo sensor 1, a solenoid switching signal output circuit 2 and a solenoid driving circuit 3 are operated to excite a solenoid 4, a filler 5 is driven in rotation taking the solenoid as a driving source, and the forward end portion 5a thereof is brought into contact with a click 9 formed on the sheet feed cassette so as to regulate the movement of the sheet feed cassette.</p> |
