PURPOSE:To provide a liquid jet recording apparatus capable of controlling the size of a generated air bubble by the change of input energy, easy to produce, excellent in durability and enabling gradation recording suitable for high density arrangement. CONSTITUTION:A liquid jet recording apparatus is equipped with a liquid jet recording heat having orifices discharging ink to form flying ink droplets, an electrothermal converter heating the ink supplied to the orifices and a pair of the electrodes 17, 18 electrically connected to the converter and the ink supplied to the orifices is changed in its state by heat to be discharged from the orifices. The electrothermal converter has a heat generating layer 41 and the conductive pieces 46a-46c adjacent to the heat generating layer 41 and the heating region of the heat generating layer 41 is divided so as to form a predetermined heat gradient in a current supply direction by the conductive pieces 46a-46c and a variable means making the input energy to the electrothermal converter variable corresponding to image data is provided. |
