<p>A particular arrangement is disclosed for sealing of a tube or lamp (10) which extends through the wall (74) of a fluidized bed (2) or through a furnance wall. The seal arrangement includes a series of compressible ceramic washers (62) which are compressed against the tube or lamp (10) and are also compressed against the area about a port (36) through which the lamp (10) or tube extends. A particular radiation lamp (10) is also taught which has extended non-radiating end portions (58) which accomodate more convenient seling at either end of the lamp (10) and separation of the end seals (56) from the radiating portion of the lamp (10).</p> |
