The device sprays anti-bonding agent onto the contact face of a die plate, esp. a cover weight of a jolt forming machine, for the manufacture of carbon electrodes for the aluminium industry, a collection vessel (12) for the anti-bonding agent is located at a distance under the die plate (5) and moves to- and fro horizontally. The vessel contains one or more upward-directed spray nozzles (13), positioned next to each other at relative distances. It moves in a frame (14) to the side of the forming machine. The vessel is connected to a double-acting piston/cylinder unit (16). ADVANTAGE - Reduced loss of anti-bonding agent.
