The apparatus is intended for testing of compressive strength fatigue in glass packaging. It is used to provide test conditions as close as possible to reality, and provide a variable pressure force that leads to increased reliability of the test results. The apparatus consists of a frame (11) and set of guides (26), on which is mounted an operating mechanism (14) attached to a load apparatus; a load cell (3); a dynamometer (8); and an adjustable fixable plate (9). A passive adjustable plate (12) is attached to frame (11). The loading apparatus is fabricated in the shape of an eccentric mechanism consisting of a shaft (18) connected to the operating mechanism, with an eccentric sleeve (19) mounted on the shaft of said operating mechanism; a second eccentric bushing (21) is mounted on this shaft, with a pressed-on sliding bearing (22) resting on load cell (3), which consists of several replaceable rubber sections. Multiple glass packages under test are placed in a row between the active (9) and passive (12) plates.<IMAGE>
