The knee joint arthroscope for inspecting the interior of the human knee, consists of a main tube (1), which houses the actual arthroscope and a second smaller tube mounted on the side of the main tube. This second tube (2) forms a guide for a mandrel (3), a tissue extractor (4), a drill rod (5) or other fine instrument which can be inserted into the knee joint and actuated when inserted. The instrument is held in place in the second tube by a small screw (2a) with a milled head, which engages a tapped hole in the wall of the tube.
