A bioreactor for the cultivation of reproducible biomass, esp. cells adhering to microcarriers, consists of a vessel for the culture medium, devices to control the environmental conditions and a stirring mechanism. The latter has at least one (three) stirring disc, attached at an oblique angle to the vertical drive shaft.
