PURPOSE:To make a secure diagnosis by stacking plural tomographic pictures in slicing order and forming a three-dimensional image, finding information on picture elements in each tomographic surface to a desired cross section and forming an image in the cross section, and observing the inside of the three-dimensional image. CONSTITUTION:Some of plural CT images stored in a memory 3 are read out to a main memory 2 under the control of a CPU1 and a CPU1 performs arithmetic processing for obtaining picture elements in the desired cut surface on the basis of the read images to write the arithmetic result in a memory 4 for display. The display memory 4 converts the memory contents into a video signal to display the cut image on a television monitor 6. The cross section is indicated to the CPU1 by operating an input device 5 consisting of a joy stick, etc., over a look at the television monitor 6. Consequently, the inside of the three-dimensional image cut by an optional curve or plane is observed, which is effective in diagnosis. |
