Car boot lid lock with swivel bolt on wall - which coacts with ramp face to provide locking force under spring action

The ramp surface (4) co-operates with the bolt (3) to produce a locking foot to press the boot lid (2) on to the body wall (9). It covers such an area that if the bolts settle due to fatigue etc. the force of the spring (8) re-adjusts the wall and lid. A release-surfaced (14) key (1) moves the bolt away from the bevelled surface and so enables the bolt to slide off along the ramp surface (12). USE/ADVANTAGE - Motor vehicles. Boot lid/body wall can be adjusted to allow for bolt fatigue and so maintain locking function.
