The clamp arrangement for vehicle safety belt straps has a housing (3) in which is a clamp wall on the housing (3) and a clamping wedge (4) which are provided on the contact positions (9, 15) with the strap (2) with a thin hard slide layer. Further slide layers are provided on the surface (16) of the clamp wedge (4) and the corresponding surface (14) of the housing (3). The clamp device is as rigid as possible with the least possible adjustment movement of the clamp wedge (4) which has the least possible mass.
