METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF NITROGEN-HYDROGEN MIXTURE FOR AMMONIA SYNTHESIS

The method is applicable in the chemical industry for production of technological gas. It increases the productivity and reduces the energy costs. According to the method, the nitrogen-hydrogen mixture is prepared through a two-stage conversion of hydrocarbons. In the second stage, the quantity of heat, necessary for the conversion, is provided by burning hydrocarbons, additionally introduced in the converter. The burning is implemented in the presence of air at the entrance of the converter. The hydrocarbons, additionally introduced in the converter for the second stage of the conversion, may be in a gaseous state, e.g. methane, and/or in a liquid state, e.g. low-octane gasoline.
