The machine for covering and protecting crops from rain and frost consists of a chassis (2) mounted on rollers (18,11,70). On the chassis is a drum (5) of covering material (6) supported on trunnions (139). The material is fed from the drum through two pairs of guide rollers (8), between which is a ventilating unit (9) and a scraper (10) to remove water and dirt. The material then passes down through the bed of the chassis to the ground under a pressure roller (11) and trailing roller (18), and finally under another pressure roller (70). ADVANTAGE - All necessary machinery is on one chassis which reduces damage to the crops to a minimum.
