Compsns. (I) contain; (A) 40-99.5 % (all pts.wt.) thermoplastic polyester with viscosity no. (DIN 53 726, 0.5% in 1:1 mixt. of phenol and o-dichlorobenzene at 23 deg.C) (VA) 90-300 ml/g; (B) 0.5-10 % low mol. thermoplastic polyamide with viscosity no. (ISO 307, 0.5% in 96% H2SO4 at 25 deg.C) (VA) 30-100 ml/g, where VA-VB is at least 30; (C) 0-50% fibrous or particulate fillers or their mixts., (D) 0-40% rubber-elastic polymer; (E) 0-30% conventional additives. Pref. VA = 100-200 ml/g. VB = 40-80 ml/g. VA-VB is at least 50. (I) contain 50-99% (A) and 1-5% (B). (A) is PET and/or polybutylene terephthalate (II). (B) is polyhexamethylene adipamide (III) and/or polycaprolactam and/or partly aromatic partly crystalline copolyamide. USE/ADVANTAGE - Prepn. of fibres, films, and moulded articles partic. in the motor vehicle industry. (I) have improved flowability compared with compsns. not contg. (B), independently of amt. and type of (E), reduced cycle time, and improved toughness with greater plastic deformation before final break
