Cable inlet with grooves on inside wall kept filled with lubricant - by combination of viscosity, surface tension and groove dimensions

Cable inlet has an inlet tube of thermoplastic plastics with a round cross-section and parallel grooves and ribs on the inside wall. The grooves are filled with a lubricant (I) which wets the inside wall and has a given viscosity and surface tension. The depth and width of the grooves are such that the action of the surface tension, viscosity and wetting force keeps the grooves full of (I). Pref. (I) is glyceryl caprylate, caprate, lamellar silicate, triglycerides of fatty acid with medium chain length and/or silicones. Pref. the grooves have a depth of 0.1-1.0 mm and max. depth of 0.3-3.0 mm. The grooves and ribs are parallel to the genatrix of the tube or arranged in a spiral or have undulating and/or zig-zag shape. Sections of alternating right- and left-handed sprials and/or combinations of spiral and/or undulating and/or zig-zag and parallel ribs and grooves may also be used. The grovoes and ribs are formed directly on the inside walls or on slides formed on these walls. ADVANTAGE - The inlet reduces friction and is effective long-term.
