The sound and/or thermal insulation panel (1) is formed from several layers of mineral fibres. They are put together inside the mould body in different fibre lay outs and/or different thicknesses and/or different compositions. Two layers (2,3) may be laid with their layers at right angles to the panel surface, but of differing stiffness. Further layers (4) are joined with their layers parallel to the panel surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - For heat and noise proofing of buildings. Produces a board of increased stiffness and load bearing capacity.
