Described is a wheel rim, in particular a light-alloy rim, with an outwardly projecting edge zone (8), in the shape of for instance a flange, and with one or more protective elements (6) disposed in such a way that they cover the outside of the rim edge zone (8), the protective elements being adhesively bonded to the edge zone, in particular the edge flange.
