<p>The apparatus permits the forwarding of the product units by means of a pair of conveyor belts (1 and 2) which bring the said units onto a pair of take-off discs (5). The product units arrive in the pairs of lines of thin strips (6) and are retained in their slots (7) which permit their uniformly distributed and partially superposed arrangement. Used in this manner, the product units arrive, moving forward towards the expulsion bars (8) which enable them to be expelled from the retaining slots (7) and for them to be stored on a stationary reception and discharge plane (9) vertically in line with the take-off discs (5). Provided at the centre is a separating wheel (10) with separating blades (11) defining successive identical spaces for housing the formed packets (12) for inserting into the packing machine. When the prearranged number of product units for each packet is reached, the separating wheel (10) suddenly accelerates and brings its small blade (11), from the position of alignment with the pair of blades (6), so as to be inserted between the final unit provided for the packet and the following unit in storage phase.
