A method for optional heating or cooling the air in a building which has an air-permeable roof (1) and a floor (11) which is designed as a radiation source for heating and, respectively, as a radiation receiver for cooling the air in the building. When there is a heat demand, the roof is used as a counterflow roof, whereas, when there is a cooling demand, the roof is used as a parallel flow roof by causing exhaust air to be extracted from the building through the roof during simultaneous energy exchange with outdoor air, so that this will be cooled before it enters the building as supply air. The floor is utilized as a radiation receiver for supplementary cooling, i.e. for final adjustment of the temperature of the air in the building. When there is a cooling demand the supply air will be conducted into the building through low velocity air terminal devices (13) at floor level.

|
